Here is a 50-word English essay on how to protect the environment:

Protecting our environment is crucial for the well-being of our planet and future generations. As a responsible citizen, it is our duty to take action and contribute to environmental conservation. One way to protect the environment is by reducing our carbon footprint. We can achieve this by using public transportation, walking, or cycling instead of driving. Additionally, we can minimize waste by practicing the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Another important aspect of environmental protection is preserving natural resources. We should consume energy efficiently and use renewable energy sources whenever possible.
