【一】常规用法：There be结构中的be是可以运用各种时态的。

动词be单复数形式要跟there be之后真正的主语一致，并且要根据就近一致原则来确定be的单复数形式。

1、There be 过去时态例：There was a meeting here yesterday.昨天这里有个会议。There were many people in the park yesterday.昨天公园里有很多人。

2、There be 现在时态例：There is a pen and two books on the desk.课桌上有一支钢笔和两本书。There are two books and a pen on the desk.课桌上有两本书和一支钢笔。There is a wallet lying on the ground.地上有个钱包。

3、There be 将来时态例：There is going to be a football match in the stadium tonight.今晚体育馆将有一场足球比赛。There will be a basketball match between Class 1 and Class 21班和2班之间将有一场篮球比赛。

4、There be 现在完成时态例：There has been no rain today.今天至现在没下雨。There have been lots apples on the table.桌子上有许多苹果。【二】变化用法：在there be结构中改变be动词可以变换各种句型。

1、在there be结构的be动词前还可以加上各种情态动词例：There must be something wrong.一定有问题。There ought not to be so many people.不应该有这么多人。There might be snow at night.晚上可能有雪。

2、There used／seem／happen／appear to be...例：There appeared to be nobody willing to help.看来没人愿意帮忙。There used to be a theater here.过去这儿有家剧院。There happened to be a man walking by.碰巧有个人在此经过。There doesn’t seem to be much hope.好像没有太大的希望。

3、在there be句型中的be还可以换成其他的动词与there连用，这些词都是表示状态的，如：live，stand，exist，remain等；或用来描写某事的发生或某人的到达，如：come，appear, enter, follow, occur等。例：There stands a temple on the top of the mountain.山上有一座寺庙。There once lived an old lady.这儿曾经住着一个老太太。Then there came a knock at the door.然后有人敲门。There goes your last chance.这是你最后一次机会了。There followed a terrible noise.随后传来了可怕的声音。Suddenly there entered a strange man.突然进来了一个奇怪的人。【三】延伸用法：There be句式的非谓语形式(there to be／there being)它们的用法如下：

1、作主语：当作主语时，一般是there being结构，当句式中有for时，一般用there to be。例：There being a shop here is a great advantage.这儿有个商店，真是一大好处。There being a house with a garden is of great value.拥有花园的房子是很值钱的。It is impossible for there to be any more trees.不可能再有树了。It was strange for there to be so few people in the church.教堂里人这么少真是奇怪。

2、 作宾语：作动词宾语时：expect，mean，intend，want，prefer等动词后宾语一般用there to be结构；mind，appreciate，imagine等动词和介词后宾语一般用there being结构。例：I would not like there to be any mistake.我不希望有任何的错误。Do you expect there to be any objection to our opinion 你认为会有人反对我们的观点吗 I don’t mind there being any objection to our opinion.我不介意有人反对我们的观点。He was disappointed at there being so little to do.他对没什么可做感到失望。You can imagine there being a heated discussion about it.你可以想象出人们对此会有一场激烈的讨论。

3、 作状语：用作状语的there be形式通常用there being结构。例：There being no buses, we had to walk home.由于没有公共汽车，我们不得不走回家。There being no nobody in the room，we realized that there was no use crying.屋里没人，我们意识到哭喊是没有用的。There being nothing else to do, we went home happily.由于没事可做，我们快乐地回家了。【四】特殊用法：

1、There is no sense／point in doing sth.： “做某事是没有意义的”例：There is no sense in beating around the bush.拐弯抹角说话没有意义。

2、There is no need to do sth. ：“没有必要做某事”例：Give it directly to him; there is no need to do it through me.你就直接交给他，不必要我转手。

3、There is no doing ：“(口语)不可能……”例：There is no gainsaying the fact that they have been responsible for a truly great building.不容否认的事实是，他们一手建起了一座真正伟大的建筑。

4、There is no doubt about sth. ／There is no doubt that… ：“毫无疑问……”例：There is no doubt that grades have improved and interest in education has revived.无疑，成绩提高了，上学的兴趣也恢复了。

5、There is no possibility／chance that(of)… ：“做某事是不可能的”例：There is no possibility that we can get there in time, because the snow held up our flight.我们按时到那里是没有可能的，因为大雪延误了我们的航班。

6、There is a possibility／chance that(of)…. ：“做某事是有可能的”例：There is a possibility that you would miss the important meeting.你有可能会错过这个重要的会议。
